Levels of Care
STR Harrisburg offers PHP and IOP — two structured levels of outpatient care that bridge the gap between residential treatment and traditional outpatient therapy and are designed to meet each client’s needs at every stage of recovery.
Partial Hospitalization Program
STR Harrisburg’s PHP provides a higher level of clinical support and structure while clients continue living in the community. Programming includes five hours per day, Monday – Friday, with services such as individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication management, case management, and peer support.
Intensive Outpatient Program
STR Harriburg’s IOP provides flexible three-hour treatment sessions, available three or five days per week during the daytime. Clients will receive therapy and ongoing guidance to support progress, including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication management, case management, and peer support.

What is the difference between PHP and IOP at STR Harrisburg?
STR Harrisburg offers two levels of outpatient care. PHP runs Monday through Friday and provides the highest level of outpatient structure — ideal for those stepping down from residential care or who need more intensive support. IOP offers flexible scheduling options, with programming either three or five days per week. Day programming is offered Monday through Friday, and evening programming is available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. IOP is designed for those who are stable enough to manage more independence while continuing to build recovery skills.
How long is PHP or IOP at STR Harrisburg?

There is no predetermined timeline — because every person’s journey is unique, treatment continues as long as it is clinically appropriate. The treatment team, in collaboration with the client and their loved ones, determines the appropriate length of stay. Yes. STR Harrisburg offers care management services, including assistance with FMLA, short-term disability, and legal matters. Clients meet with their care manager weekly. Please note that long-term disability assistance is not available through this program.
