Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between PHP and IOP?
Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) are both structured outpatient levels of care, but they differ in intensity and time commitment. PHP at STR Bucks County runs Monday through Saturday and provides the highest level of outpatient structure — ideal for those stepping down from residential care or who need more support than IOP can offer. How long is PHP or IOP at STR Bucks County?
Length of stay is individualized based on each client’s clinical, medical, and social needs. On average, most clients spend four to six weeks in PHP and six to eight weeks in IOP. Progress toward treatment goals and overall engagement in the program may influence the overall timeline.
