Strong Community,
Lifelong Support
Recovery doesn’t stop at when you leave STR. You deserve continuous support in building a strong community for life.
Our Guiding Principles
At STR Behavioral Health, through “The Three C’s”, our Alum Program helps clients build a foundation of ongoing support, connection, and community for themselves and their families as they continue their journey to lifelong recovery.

Connect
We create meaningful connections between alums, their loved ones, and our supportive communities, ensuring no one walks the journey of recovery alone.
Commit
Our team offers unwavering guidance and support, helping alums and their loved ones focus on lasting healing.
Cultivate
We nurture strong, empowering communities that inspire growth, resilience, and lifelong recovery.

“I am still here because they are there.”
Building community through our Alum Program
Nothing compares to the understanding and support from those who have walked a similar path. Our alum relations team connects clients and their loved ones to support groups that foster meaningful connections and offer guidance to ease the transition into life after treatment.
+ Discharge Interviews
During each interview, the alum relations coordinator introduces the program, answers any questions, and collects membership information.
+ The Discharge Group
During each client’s stay, this group provides a safe space to check in, share their experiences, and receive guidance about the alum program and the transition process.
+ The Alum Support Group
This weekly group allows alums to share post-treatment experiences, find encouragement, and receive ongoing support.
+ The Family Support Group
Families of client alums connect in this weekly group, sharing their experiences with others who understand and find the support they need during the recovery journey.
Post-Discharge Outreach
We know that consistent contact cultivates relationships. After leaving STR Behavioral Health, each alum receives ongoing scheduled check-ins. This ensures that recovery challenges and necessary resources are identified and accessible as part of our lifelong support.
Private online groups
The GroupMe app and private Facebook page offer alums and their loved ones a seamless way to connect with fellow members. They can post, build friendships, join support groups, track events and milestones, and more.
Volunteer committee
Our Alum Program is led by a volunteer committee in collaboration with our Alum Relations Coordinator. Committee members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings and participate in most program events.
Quarterly events
We believe in the power of connection through group activities! Recovery is about engaging with life and creating new experiences. The volunteer committee selects quarterly events like reunions, bowling, and more.
We are committed to providing life-changing treatment at every level. Here’s what members of our community say about us.
“They helped me set up aftercare and followed up with me. The alumni group is awesome!”
